Patient Education Knorr Tasty Pap Seasoning – No Need to Add Salt
Unilever has launched a new seasoning that is specifically designed for use in the cooking of traditional Pap.
This new seasoning delivers better flavour than the traditional preparation method of adding salt to the pot while cooking. It has the added benefit of being 30% lower in sodium than salt!
Tasty Pap Recipe
Serves: 4 | Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:700 ml water
15 ml Knorr Tasty Seasoning Powder
500 ml maize meal
Instructions:1. Bring water to the boil in a large pot.
2. Add the Knorr Tasty Seasoning Powder and the maize meal to the boiling water. Mix well.
3. Reduce heat and cook for 20-25 minutes with the lid on. Stir occasionally (a crust will always form on the bottom of the pot as the maize meal steams and cooks).
By reducing the amount of salt in your food, you are adding to your good health. High levels of sodium lead to high cholesterol levels. A healthy diet consists of a balanced diet and lifestyle that is reduced of salt, fats and sugar.
